Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes


I LOVE this book which is a classic for a good reason. The story and characters are complex, nuanced, and endearing.

The Christmas Tree by Julie Salamon


I didn’t know just how good this book would be before I read it. It’s a lovely story and was great at holding my interest.

Reading Between the Lines by Gene Edward Veith Jr.


I became a better reader thanks to this book’s challenging, inspiring, and practical overview of the art and science of reading.

Dancing on the Head of a Pen by Robert Benson


This book made me a better writer with its gentle and inspiring advice.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About God by Eric Metaxas

1776 by David McCullough


McCullough is a master storyteller. In this book, he takes you through the tragedies and triumphs of America’s first year. This is one of my favorite books of all time.

The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White


This instructive and entertaining little book improved my grammar immensely.
